Cauliflower fry or Gobi fry is a popular and tasty south Indian street food. To make this dish blanched cauliflower florets are coated in spice powders and deep fried until crispy and golden.
For such a simple recipe, this dish tastes super addictive, delicious and very hearty. You can flavor this dish in so many ways.
I do not add sauce or colors to my Gobi fry recipe. Just a dash of Kashmiri red chili powder gives the vibrant color to these fries.

- Use fresh and tender cauliflower head for best taste. Separate it into bite sized florets so that they are easy to deep fry or bake.

2. Blanch cauliflower florets with salt and hot water for 5-10 minutes.

3. Drain the water completely.

4. Transfer cauliflower florets to a mixing bowl and Add all the ingredients.

5. Add water and mix well.

6. Set aside for soak 15-20 minutes. So the spices coat all the florets.

7. Heat oil for deep frying. Take each floret separately and gently drop in the hot oil.

8. Deep fry until the Gobi turns crispy and golden brown in medium flame.

9. Drain excess oil and serve cauliflower fry as snack.

Serve cauliflower fry as snack or side dish with fried rice.

CAULIFLOWER FRY | GOBI 65

INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups cauliflower florets from 1 medium head Gobi
- Gram flour 4 tablespoon
- Rice flour 1 tablespoon
- Corn flour 1 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
- Ginger & Garlic- 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Leaves- 1 tablespoon
- Curry Leaves- 8-10
- Chilly Powder- 1/2 tablespoon
- Turmeric Powder- 1 /4 tsp
- Salt -as you taste
- Water- 1/4 cup
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Blanch cauliflower florets in salted hot water for 5-10 minutes. Drain the water completely.
- Transfer cauliflower florets to a mixing bowl. Add all the ingredients and mix well
- Set aside for 15-20 minutes. So the spices coat all the florets.
- Heat oil for deep frying. Take each floret separately and gently drop in the hot oil.
